Taj Uddin Ahmed Memorial Trust Fund
The Taj Uddin Ahmed Memorial Trust Fund was established by Ms Sharmin Ahmad, eldest daughter of Taj Uddin Ahmed, in 2010 in great memory of the veteran leader and the first Prime Minister of independent Bangladesh.
The motivation behind the foundation of this Trust Fund is to commemorate his works and sacrifice for the cause of the Bengali nation also to spread out his ideals among young generation. It pays tribute to his contribution in building a war-torn country.
The Trust Fund invites ‘essay completion’ reflecting various aspects of Taj Uddin’s life and its implications in the welfare of the country. The competition helps students rediscover this national hero through his works and writings. It allocates cash prizes and certificates to the winners of the competition.
Taj Uddin Ahmed Memorial Lectures:
The Fund host memorial lecture delivered by a distinguished scholar focusing on relevant aspect of his political life.
In a bid to beef up empowerment of female peace education, the Fund also provides scholarship to a meritorious female student in the department who stands first in the first semester exam or freshman year.
Taj Uddin Ahmed Gold Medal:
The Trust Fund also awards a Gold Medal to a female student who secures first position in the merit or highest GPA in the semester Final Exam at the graduate level as recognition of her outstanding performance.
